The LitterBusters strive to enhance the cleanliness and general appearance of the City, reduce the impact of litter on our environment, monitor illegal dumping and litter hot spots, as well as generally maintaining paths, boardwalks and other areas.

Illegal Dumping

Illegal dumping is not a victimless crime. It harms the environment, creates safety hazards, impacts local amenity and costs ratepayers thousands of dollars each year.

As part of Operation Hidden Lens, the City has taken seven enforcement actions against illegal dumping offenders, including infringements and a court prosecution currently before the courts.

Using surveillance cameras, witness reports and evidence recovered from dumped materials, City officers are identifying offenders and taking enforcement action. Those caught illegally dumping waste may face substantial fines or prosecution.

Community reports play a vital role in helping the City investigate illegal dumping.

If you witness an incident, safely record details such as the location, date, time, vehicle registration number, vehicle description, people involved and the type of waste being dumped.

Dispose of your waste responsibly and help keep Rockingham clean and welcoming for everyone.
